⚠️ Important Fraud Prevention and Account Security Reminder
Dear Valued Client,
Finally has partnered with Citizens to support our clients’ banking needs, and we take fraud prevention and account security very seriously.
While Finally is here to educate and support you, fund managers are ultimately responsible for overseeing their fund’s financial activity, approving transactions, and maintaining appropriate internal controls. Please keep these important precautions in mind:
Never share login credentials, one-time passcodes, wire PINs, or other private information. Citizens will never contact you to request this information.
Treat urgent or unusual payment requests with caution, especially when someone pressures you to act quickly or secretly.
Verify any changes to wire instructions, vendor banking details, or contact information using a trusted phone number or known contact.
Access your bank through its official website rather than links in unsolicited emails, texts, advertisements, or pop-ups.
Enable account and transaction alerts and regularly review account access and user permissions.
At Finally, we require verbal verification through a trusted contact before processing changes to wire instructions. If anything feels unusual or suspicious, please pause and contact our team before taking action.
Additional fraud-prevention resources from Citizens:
If you suspect fraudulent activity, contact your financial institution and the Finally team immediately. We are committed to helping our clients stay informed, strengthen their controls, and reduce their exposure to fraud.
💼 Protecting Your Fund & Your Firm
We also strongly recommend that every fund maintain appropriate insurance coverage as an additional layer of protection. Through our insurance partner, we can help connect you with a specialist to discuss coverage options based on your fund’s structure and needs.

Running a fund already comes with enough risk. You don't need to take on more than necessary.
Here's what we see all the time: someone does everything right and still ends up dealing with a claim. Not because they did anything wrong, but because an LP misunderstood something, a deal didn't go as expected, docs got interpreted differently, or a wire issue happened.
A few things people underestimate:
You can get named personally, not just your fund
Legal costs add up fast, even if you're in the right
Issues can surface years after a decision was made
LPs are starting to expect this during diligence
The basics to have a handle on: D&O · E&O · Cyber · Crime · Key Person · EPLI
Insurance isn't about expecting things to go wrong. It's about understanding your position and protecting what you're building.
At Finally, we don't sell insurance, but we see where things break. We work closely with partners like Vouch who actually understand fund structures.
